SYSDATE
Returns the current date and time of the system.

This function is provided for Oracle compatability and is called without parentheses.

The current system date and time, with type DATETIME

This function has a special form and is called without parentheses.
Aliases to this function include CURRENT_TIMESTAMP and GETDATE.

Find events that happen before this month
We will use TRUNC to get the date at the beginning of this month, and then filter.
